To Succeed You Need a Strategy

I have made the mistake lately of trying to do a million different things at once. I will work on one project, then discover something new and skip to an entirely different topic. This is not a good idea if you’re going to work from home. It’s not so much a problem of not working, I work very hard for a very long time. I am lucky that my baby is in the newborn stage and I can nurse him and entertain him while I’m multitasking/working on the laptop.

If you don’t have a plan while you’re working at home you will not succeed. I’ve learned that much already. Despite working long and hard hours, you will end up with 8 unfinished, non-money making projects vs. one or two awesome, money making projects. I think my problem at this point is that I am getting impatient and want to know what works. I’ve come up with a game plan that may help you as well.

  1. Choose one project a week
  2. Work on developing all aspects of that project, until you feel that it will make you money or is finished to your liking.
  3. Take 15 minutes to check on stats (webpage logs, adsense stats, commission reports, etc)
  4. Take 1 hour to promote projects on forums/social networking sites, etc.
  5. Take 30 minutes to respond to e-mails/make contacts with others
  6. Once you’ve finished one project, move on to the next one. Take a little bit of time each day just to maintain the other while you’re working on the new. That will keep the ball rolling on everything you’re doing.

Of course this works for Internet marketers, not if you have one specific business :) I am dipping and dabbling in so many things that I need this framework. Develop one that will work for you, just know that you need a strategy.
