Success With Working at Home
Posted by BloggyMommy at 12:58 am in My Goals, About Me

There are so many people trying to work at home online. I’ve had the privilege of talking with some of them on online forums. Their success set against those who try and fail makes me think of the recipe for success. Why do some succeed while other’s don’t?

I actually submitted an article on this topic to an articles site today, so if it gets published, I will post the link here.

The basic gist of the article was that what sets failure from success in online marketing is drive, determination, and goal setting. People are just fine when they start out. They are full of the need to succeed. When they hit some roadblock, people tend to shy away and give up. I even find myself wavering sometimes and I’ve only just begun.

To keep myself going, I’ve decided to start *another* blog. Its domain name is www.projectwahm.com (it is not put together yet…stay tuned!  Now LIVE!). This blog will detail my mission to continue being a work at home mom. I love being at home with my little son so much that I can’t imagine going back to working elsewhere. I will post the things I’m doing online to make money, be totally honest about them. I will post my earnings from each opportunity as well so maybe you can see if there is something you could succeed in as well. I got this idea from Amy Bass’ website called My Debt Free Goal .

Her mission is a little different-to pay down large amounts of debt. But her blog seems to hold her accountable and that’s what I want projectwahm to do for me. I also want it to be a place for fair and real evaluation of online opportunities and possibilities. I will left you know when that site is up and running!

Finally,

If you have a son or daughter who wants a Nintendo Wii, Xbox, or other gaming console this holiday season head over to my affiliate site Video Game Bargains

The site has done all of the searching for you, and links to ebay where you will make your final purchase. If you plan on using ebay anyway, this is a great way to help a momma out as I get a commission ;)

Here is a testimonial from Annie about her Work at Home Businesses :)

“I joined the Berry Tree in pre-launch - It went live on 19th September. It is a sister to a previously estabished company - Nutronix (which I am also a Snr. Exec in). The great thing about Nutronix (for newbies) is that it has a company called Automatic Builder. This basically does all the set up, advertising, lead finding etc part of the business for you. It still requires hard work, but the problem of “where do I go to find people” is basically solved for you by the company. It also has a great “go to” area whereby you can get info on, and sign up for, banner ads, websites, web hosting, traffic blasters etc. For someone who doesn’t know about web hosting, internet traffic etc it makes life very easy. If you want to do hosting etc else where you can of course, and the more experienced you are - well that’s great, but when recruiting people - this is a great starting point as they really don’t need to go anywhere else. The Berry Tree is slightly different. The company guarantees that if you join and stay with the company for 20 months maximum (it often happens in much less time) you will have earned more money than if you had put the equivalent in a savings account - and that is if you do absolutely NOTHING at all! The harder you work to promote your site, the quicker your tree fills and the more money you make. Both sites deal with the wellness industry - the Berry Water is an awesome product (in my opinion). We have, and are, great sponsors. The harder someone works, the harder the sponsor helps them in a variety of ways. Great email feedback and question answering as well. It is not so huge that no-one cares. Just fabulous products, fabulous opportunity for newbie or experienced person and great fun. It’s nice to promote an honest company with a real opportunity for real money making. I am doing great - in less than a year. It is not a get rich quick scheme, it does require effort to set up and promote but I never cold call, never sell product (I give it to friends to try sometimes) and I only ever deal with people who have actively sought me out. I can’t say enough about it. It is a business, not an hourly wage type job, however as I believe that most businesses now have to be on-line to stay effective and to maximise profits, to be in a company which gives you all the tools is awesome. 100% Free Money Maker, Had to Share!
Posted by BloggyMommy at 8:04 am in CashCrate, Good Businesses

I was lazily looking at other blogs last night when I came across as site that listed a woman’s work at home earnings and the various programs she was doing. One company was called “CashCrate.” I hadn’t heard of CashCrate before, but I think it’s a fairly popular “get paid to” website. However, I think that many of the people who sign up for it don’t realize the potential it offers with its referral program. Even without the referral program, I made about $15 in about 20 minutes just by signing up and completing free surveys. CashCrate offers ways to earn more by using a credit card for trial offers, but I’m sticking to totally free methods to see how much I can make!

The lady I signed up under earned over $1000 last month by completing free surveys and taking advantage of the referral program. I think the referral program is where the money is to be made!

“You currently earn 20% of what your referrals make and 10% of what their referrals make.
You’ll also receive a $3.00 bonus for each referral who meets the $10 minimum payout.”

So, theoretically, if I sign up 50 members who make $10 each, I can make $150 just for each referral plus a $2 commission from each which is another $100…just on the first level. So that is at least $250 from referrals, plus whatever I make on my own, and whatever my referral’s referral’s make…whew! I don’t understand all of the details yet, but I’m starting to see how my upline received over $1000. That’s awesome! As I said, I’ve already earned $15 and haven’t spent a dime. If I build up my referral base, I could really earn some nice extra money :)

I really like free methods and will be adding this to my list of things I’m “trying” in my efforts to continue to stay home with my baby. I promise I will be truthful about success and failures/disappointments. I’m not going to hesitate to ask you to sign up below me though :) What have you got to lose…it’s free and totally easy extra money!

Focus on Your Business
Posted by BloggyMommy at 3:43 pm in Business Tips, My Goals

Given the amount of work at home and online businesses there are, why isn’t everyone finding them and making good money? One reason is that many of these businesses are scams. Even so, there are many out there that are legitimate work at home opportunities. I believe the number one reason people who join or start legitimate online businesses fail because they do not see results right away and give up.

I joined Avon when I was in college. I started out very gung ho about the business. I was so sure everyone would want to buy and that I would make money. My college roommate joined with me and we set off to advertise. What better place to start than your friends! We gathered them all up to present our products, expecting them to be immediately interested and to buy, buy, buy. Out of 10 girls, 1 of them bought a chapstick.

We sold to a couple of other people (ok, like one other person), and gave up within a month or too, never to speak of it again. What happened here? Why did we fail? In retrospect I think we expected to have results right away and to make a profit right away. If we had stuck with it, who knows where we would be now.

Many people with home based businesses have the same problem. They think that they will make money hand over fist with very little effort in very little time. This is not often the case, if ever. With any business where you are your own boss, you need discipline and focus to make a go of it. Immediate results are not seen, so you must work past that with your end goal in mind.

On a forum I belong to, we decided to start a weekly goals list to make ourselves accountable for what we want to accomplish. My goals for this week are to update each of my blogs with one new post a day. That is the only way to build interest in what I am doing and to stay focused. My other goal is to sign up 2 members with MyWorldPlus and to offer those members the guidance and support they need to succeed in the home based business industry. I also need to make sure I send in all of my paperwork for my online tutoring job.

It is a good idea for all of those trying to make it in the home based business industry to develop a weekly goals list. That way, you can check things off of your list and feel like you are accomplishing something even if you are not seeing the immediate results of your end goal. Another reason people give up is they lost their inspiration. Often companies offer shiny promises on the front page, and when you don’t see those shiny results right away you lose hope. Find inspiration by chatting with someone who is successful, or bookmarking the page of a success you admire.

Tips for Staying Focused

  • Find some inspiration
  • Develop a weekly goals list
  • Check things on your goal list off so you feel accomplished
  • If you are getting frustrated, take yourself away from it for a while to return with a fresh mind.

What do you do to stay focused???

Developing Relationships is Key
Posted by BloggyMommy at 6:38 pm in Business Tips, Promoting

I am very happy to report that I was able to acquire two members who signed up with me for MyWorldPlus! I really am enjoying this business because it’s giving me a great chance to connect with other people online. I never realized that potential that was there to develop real relationships and helping bond online. I have to say that when I joined MyWorldPlus I was so gung ho and ready to go…I *knew* I’d get a million people to sign up right away. A couple of days later I got pretty discouraged. I was having people sign up to tour the website, but no *bites*. Then, after having developed relationships, I signed up my two members! I’ve come to some realizations through this process.

There are some things to consider when promoting your online business. Do a google search for “work at home” or any variation of that title. There are something like 1,840,000,000 results that come up. The problem with promoting a business online?? EVERYONE else is trying to promote their business. There really has been a surge in work at home businesses lately, and it’s hard to sift through and find the right one. It’s also hard to promote it once you’ve found it.

That’s where developing those online relationships will really help you out. For example; Joe has a business selling a new vitamin and Sally has a business selling makeup. Sally is quick at answering your questions and is very friendly. She doesn’t just push her product, she takes an effort to get to know you and allows you to get to know her. Joe isn’t very good at getting back to you and is very pushy. He doesn’t seem interested in you, only your sale. Which person are you more likely to sign up with?

So remember, whether you’re looking to start a business or you’re trying to promote your business you must develop those relationships. If you learn anything while you’re advertising, know that:

  • It won’t come fast.
  • Everyone else is trying to promote their business too.
  • You must take the time to answer people’s questions
  • Get to know them
  • Allow them to get to know you
  • So the best place I’ve found to promote your online business? Online forums such as WAHM and community based sites such as Cafemom. Get out there and have fun!

    Online Tutoring
Posted by BloggyMommy at 12:37 pm in Good Businesses

Today I have an online training for an online tutoring program I was hired for! I learned about the job on a message board I frequent (WAHM). The job is perfect for me as I am a fully trained and certified teacher, but want to stay at home. It is called Brainfuse. It pays $10 an hour and every little bit helps :) I hadn’t heard of them before, but it seems like a cool chance for kids to get some extra help.

They have you download a software program that acts as a whiteboard for you to teach on. I’ll update my impressions after the session!

    MyWorldPlus Home Business
Posted by BloggyMommy at 1:25 am in MyWorldPlus, Good Businesses

    MWP2

My first attempt to “work at home” came when I was in college. I saw an ad to “take surveys and earn thousands of dollars a month.” I signed up. “Wow, this is going to be great!!!” I paid the $49.99 and got started. Well, all they did was send me a word document full of links (half of which didn’t work). I ended up reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and getting my money back. At that point I decided there were no legit Work at Home companies. Fast forward to now. I’ve resigned from my job as a first grade teacher and am staying at home with my baby. I know that I do not want to return to work until he is older, so I know that I’ve got to create my own opportunities.

I started my search through a website called WAHM This stands for Work at Home Mom. I love the forums on this website because it is full of REAL people who’ve already tried or are currently trying the business opportunities and telecommuting jobs that are out there. This site is a great place to do your research!

I found one business opportunity that really seemed cool. I was *very* nervous to sign on because it requires a fee to set up a website for you as well as a monthly charge for the product they offer. I did my research though, and joined up.

The biz op is called “My World Plus”. I just signed up last week, so I’m not going to tell you I’ve made thousands and thousands of dollars for doing two hours of work. First of all, let me explain the program. MyWorldPlus is basically a discount card program. They offer discounts on vacations, groceries, restaurants and fast food, etc. I was skeptical of this because it charges a monthly $20 fee for the card. However, when you take the little tour they offer you can search for deals in your area. Even the dinky little bowling alley in my dinky little town has a partnership with them! I haven’t used the discounts yet because the card takes two weeks to arrive, but from the WAHM forum I know that people are saving money. So, that at least made me feel better about paying for this service.

I really liked the discount aspect…I’m always looking for a good deal, especially now with a baby! Gotta save on those diapers! What I really liked was that I could offer the card to others and make $25 per person I sponsor or enroll! Then I earn $8 on every person they enroll and so on. What really caught my eye was that I can earn on the people my team members enroll as well (I think that can really add up!).

I’m still very new, but I’ve signed one person up which excited me :) I’ll chronicle my experience here with this program so you know if it’s one you might be interested in. It’s just one of the things I’m doing to work at home. Stay tuned and learn from my mistakes and successes!

Why I Want to Work at Home
Posted by BloggyMommy at 8:28 pm in My Goals

    Business Woman

I have a four year college degree in education. I feel that this is an accomplishment, however, I was never satisfied in the role I had created for myself. And now, with the birth of my son, the prospect of returning to work while he is so young seems like a cruel thing for both he and I. I do not look down on the mothers who have to send their child to daycare, not in anyway. It is a choice that every mom has to make and sometimes moms do not even have the choice-they simply must return to work. My goal is to create that choice for myself, to pave my own path that will allow me to work at home and raise my child. He is the most important thing to me, and I want to raise him like God intended. This blog will chronicle my attempts to work at home and what I learn along the way. I feel, so far, successful and I’ve only just begun. Stay tuned.
