Breastfeeding With Ease
Posted by BloggyMommy at 6:23 am in Easy Feeding

It is amazing to me the difference a few months makes.  When I started, I didn’t know a single thing about breastfeeding.  I would concentrate fully on the baby, the positioning, everything.   Now, I feel like I just lay the baby down near my breast and off he goes!  It think it’s a matter of both of us finally “getting it.”  I love feeling so comfortable with breastfeeding now that I can just about do anything while I feed him. Since I’m working from home on my computer, that is a great relief.   And he knows exactly what to do now too!  His “fish lips” are exceptional.   I think that if women stuck it out for at least these first three months, the number of mothers who continue to breastfeed throughout the first year would increase.  Now, I’m not knocking those who choose to stop, just thinking aloud that the first three months are the hardest.   I love breastfeeding now and am so glad I’ve stuck through it!  If you’re having trouble like I was, don’t worry it will get better.

  1. My baby is a few days shy of four months, I still don’t love breastfeeding. I breastfed my first daughter at least part time until 5 1/2 months. This time I’m determined to stick it out and she’s only breastfed. I keep hoping to like it, but I just don’t. Makes me feel selfish. :( I’m glad you love it though! :)

I’m sorry to hear that! Your’e an awesome mama though because you are doing it anyway for the health of your baby :) Keep it up!

  3. Hiya. I came here via blogrush. I agree with you that the first 3 months is the hardest. With my first I never really quite got the hang of breastfeeding but hung on for 1 1/2 years. The second took 2 whole months to latch on but after that we became the perfect breastfeeding partners (mum and baby) for 3 years plus. Weaning was painless too. Breastfeeding is wonderful. :)

  4. I am glad breast feeding is going well with you. When my children were infants, unfortunately i had horrible issues and could not breast feed. My pediatrician assured me that the vitamins in the formulae were good for them. They have grown up into TG into 2 healthy and strong children and i have an extremely close bond with both of them. My children and I love each other more than the world.
